Daily Itinerary

Day 1 Sunday, October 21

Welcome to Italy! We’re met by our tour escort at the Florence airport and after lunch together, we arrive at our beautiful Tuscan estate—Borgo San Fedele near Siena. We enjoy a welcome reception and a lovely dinner overlooking magnificent views of the Tuscan hills that surround this peaceful location. Included meals: L/D (Borgo San Fedele near Siena-7 nights)

Day 2 Monday, October 22

We begin our discovery of Tuscany with a visit to an olive oil farm to learn the process of producing some of the finest oils in the region. We have the unique opportunity to pick our own olives just before they’re pressed. Nothing tastes better than your own fresh pressed oil—and today you’ll leave with as many bottles as you can carry! Late this afternoon we roll up our sleeves for our first cooking class where the focus is on extra virgin olive oil and how it enriches the various dishes we will be making. Each cooking class features a different kind of hand made pasta as well as the freshest of local ingredients. Included Meals: B/L/D

Day 3 Tuesday, October 23

Another day in the countryside begins with a visit to a winery in a picturesque setting with lovely gardens and an historic villa. We tour the winery and have lunch in this idyllic setting. Later, we visit a ceramic factory and watch as they create some of the most beautiful pottery in the region. Tonight we enjoy dinner at a restaurant in a nearby village. Included meals: B/L/D

Day 4 Wednesday, October 24

Today begins with a visit to Montalcino—famous for its fine Brunello wines. We have free time to explore the town and shop, then we enjoy lunch in a wine shop located within the walls of a castle with stunning views overlooking the Tuscany region. We end our day in Montepulciano and stop in at a copper artisan’s workshop to watch a master artist at work. He is one of only seven remaining copper artisans in Tuscany. Tonight we have dinner together at San Fedele. Included Meals: B/L/D

Day 5 Thursday, October 25

This morning we have our second cooking class and our lunch will be the result of our efforts paired with an excellent wine. Later this afternoon we visit Siena—where we soak up the medieval culture and enjoy free time to explore on our own. Discover the amazing history of the famous Palio horse races—which began in the middle ages and today attracts visitors from all over the world. We return to San Fedele after dinner on our own in Siena. Included Meals: B/L

Day 6 Friday, October 26

Our day begins with a visit to a family run goat cheese farm to learn all about their production. Our visit ends with a delicious cheese tasting. Later, we feast on a lovely picnic in a beautiful location amongst vineyards and olive groves. We end our day with a visit to the quaint town of Radda in Chianti. Tonight, we enjoy dinner at a local Trattoria. Included Meals: B/L/D

Day 7 Saturday, October 27

Today we head for the local market in Castellina in Chianti with our chef and cooking instructor, Andrea. He will help us select the freshest produce for our final cooking class, which features a typical Tuscan menu. We enjoy a leisurely day discovering more of the Chianti region before returning to San Fedele for our final cooking class. Our dinner tonight features a special wine tasting from a local producer presenting three different wines with our meal. We have time to reflect on the many wonderful experiences we’ve encountered together. Included Meals B/L/D

Day 8 Sunday, October 28

This morning we are transferred to the Florence airport for our flight home or you may decide to stay on and enjoy Florence or other cities in Italy. Let us know your travel plans and we’ll gladly help you arrange your trip after the tour! Included Meals B

Note: Itinerary is subject to change: Culinary Arts Tours makes every effort to operate all tours as advertised. However, it’s possible that due to unforeseen events, weather conditions, festivals or unexpected closures, we occasionally may need to rearrange a day or substitute another activity. In the end, our goal is always to make it better for our guests, and when substitutions happen, they are always enjoyable.

Single Supplement: $475

  • First class accommodations for 7 nights
  • All meals are included as indicated in the itinerary except for one dinner
  • Bottled water and wine included with lunches & dinners

  • Admission to all sightseeing and excursions
  • All cooking classes
  • All taxes and tips for services provided, including end of tour gratuities for tour escort and driver
  • Luggage handling


Your Tour Does Not Include:

  • Airfare
  • Transfers to and from the hotel from the airport if you arrive at a different time than the rest of the group
  • Any personal purchases you make
  • Passport fees
  • Any special request wines with meals outside the excellent local wines we already provide
  • Optional insurance for health, baggage and trip cancellation
    (This insurance is highly recommended. Ask us about our reasonably priced group insurance policies.)

 

Payment Schedule:

A non-refundable deposit of $500 must be received with registration. Final payment is due 90 days prior to departure. All payments may be made by check or by credit card.

Refund / Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be in writing and date of postmark or email will determine the amount of refund due. Regardless of reason, cancellations are costly. If you cancel, all unrecoverable expenses from our suppliers will be charged, in addition to the following charges per person:

89-45 days prior to departure: 50% of the package price
44 days to day of departure: 100% of the package price

There are no refunds for unused or missed days.
Travel insurance is highly recommended.































Terms and Conditions

This document outlines what Culinary Arts Tours agrees to provide when you sign up for a tour and what you agree to do in return. This is very important information, so please read it carefully before you complete and sign your registration form.

Tours include: Services of a professional tour escort, expert local guides, entrance fees to all sights listed on itinerary, hands-on cooking classes, transportation by deluxe air-conditioned minibus and minivans, accommodations, meals as indicated in the itinerary, beverages with all included meals, luggage handling, and all taxes and gratuities for the hotels, guides, and drivers. 

Tours do not include: Airfare, insurance, and items of a personal nature, such as passport fees.

Tour price: The tour price is based on the value of the dollar and is subject to change. If there is a substantial fluctuation in currency exchange rates, we reserve the right to adjust prices.

Tours cancelled by Culinary Arts Tours: Although unlikely, a tour may be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. If a tour is cancelled, the entire amount you have paid will be refunded to you within 14 days of tour cancellation. Once this occurs, Culinary Arts Tours has no other obligation to tour members on cancelled trips.

Travel insurance: Travel insurance is highly recommended to protect your trip investment so that you may travel with peace of mind. If you cancel or interrupt your trip due to illness or other qualifying unforeseen events, your non-refundable expenses will be covered.  We would be happy to provide you with our reasonable group insurance policy. We cannot be responsible for damaged or lost luggage—it is important that you have adequate baggage insurance.

Tour member health and safety: Tour participants need to be in reasonably good health. Age is not a factor but physical condition is important. By registering for this tour, you are certifying that you do not have any condition or disability that would create a hazard or hardship for other travelers. This tour requires considerable walking and standing for several hours at a time during walking tours and cooking classes. You also should expect plenty of stairs and uneven pavement in some areas. In addition, any person who needs assistance must have a travel companion who is able and willing to help them during the tour.  You may not rely on your fellow travelers to assist you during the trip.  Culinary Arts Tours reserves the right to decline accepting or retaining any traveler whose health affects the operation of the trip or the welfare or enjoyment of fellow travelers.  If you smoke,  you may  do so only outdoors and away from the group—never on the bus, in hotel rooms, or during group meals.

Termination of tour privileges: On rare occasion, a tour participant may do things which are incompatible with the safety, comfort or convenience of the other members of the tour. In those circumstances we have the right and discretion to expel someone from the tour at any time, without any claims or complaints against us.

Itinerary is subject to change: Culinary Arts Tours makes every effort to operate all tours as advertised. However, it is possible that due to unforeseen events, conditions, or changes in airline schedules, the land portion of the trip may be extended or shortened, and certain sights may be added or dropped. Any savings realized by such occurrences will be refunded; however, any extra expenses incurred must be borne by the client.

Responsibility:  Culinary Arts Tours, their officers, and employees, tour hosts, or any other persons or vendors connected with the tour shall not under any circumstances be liable to the client by reason of this agreement directly or indirectly for any accidents, injury, delay, damage, or inconvenience caused to the client by negligence of others, by malfunctions of transportation systems or equipment, by acts of war, terrorism, or rebellion, strikes, theft, itinerary changes, extreme weather conditions, or cancellations, and the client hereby releases the above mentioned corporations and persons from any and all such liability.

Promotional Materials: I understand that Culinary Arts Tours reserves the right to take photos and videos of any of its programs and agree that the company may use any such photos or video for promotional and or commercial purposes without any compensation to the traveler.  The traveler agrees to assign all right, title and interest they may have to any media in which their name or likeness might be used, to Culinary Arts Tours.
